Many people ask me where it all began. How did I end up where I currently am, and what was part of this life long journey so far?
So, how did this all start?
I feel like I am an artist at my very core. I started as a painter and fell in love with the creative process from day one. I always admired still life paintings, especially those from the 17th century, but I was always on a lookout for some more inventive ways in art.
I have tried different techniques and methods from drawing to oils and one day decided to try photography as a tool to achieve the result.
Once I tried it, I never looked back. I see photography as the next generation of my passion for art, and in a relatively short period of time, I have become known in the artistic circles for my style and the way of controlling light.
There is always something new and innovative happening in my world. What makes my style recognizable today is this special oil painting look of my photography works, but I have also explored mixing colors with light - like when using water colors. And some of my works even went down the route of resembling a classical pencil drawing since.
I formed my own photo studio PHOTOPORTRAYAL back in 2009.
I met my wife in 2012 and later she joined me on this amazing journey. And we have been sharing every single side of it since. Even in the video that I'd like to share today - she is the one peeling off the pomegranate for my next art piece that I will be releasing very soon. You can reed more about the preparations here.
I'm not 100% sure what it is, but it is probably the creativity and big vision from my side and structure and organization from her side that is making the path so fruitful and enjoyable. And, of course, delivering on our promise is something that we both share as a value.
We have come a long way since, and hopefully, still have more to come. All these exhibitions, publications and art fairs is what has been making us tick. And of course, at the core of it all is my absolute passion to keep developing my technique and practice as a photographer.
