I have been lately working on my new photography artwork - Decasstrov. Would you like to see some behind the scenes footage showing how I am putting together the composition for the photo session? Take a look at the video below. It all started from a sketch like most of my photography does. One of the main differentiating points of this artwork is that I applied my painting skills not just as part of the light painting technique as usual - I used the actual paint while preparing the composition itself. I find it admirable how the texture came out...

I occasionally photograph the family heirlooms of other people. And one of these heirlooms belongs to a friend of mine. I met him while we were exhibiting together at a pop-up photography exhibition in a local gallery. He told me a fascinating story about his family heirloom. It was a leaping Jaguar mascot from his dad's car - a car that was very dear to his dad's heart. These cars were only produced in 1960-1967. You can see several unfamiliar symbols belonging to this language on the tree's bark in the video above. It all started from an idea of a tree that can predict the future (you can find out more about...

I often like to invest some time into a bit of a DIY for my fine art still life photography compositions. It all starts with an idea in my head which is then turned into a sketch. This sketch is in turn transformed into a ready-to-photograph composition, followed by hours and hours of photographing it in a close to complete darkness. And finally, the resulting image is then put together through a sophisticated image-editing process. This time, I wanted to explore one idea that came to my mind - "What does an animal's soul look like?" And this is how this composition was born....

Today I would like to share with you a story about a special flower called Er Naro. It belongs to the Extraordinary Plant Collection of Ranno ’o Astra. One of the unique things about this flower is that it grows only when someone is looking at it. That is why it hardly ever achieves its full size, especially in wild nature. That is why it is so rare. It is a carnivorous plant, it derives most of its nutrients from trapping small animals and birds. By spraying its spores it leaves animals immobile and causes severe hallucinations from which no...
